Assoc. Prof. Vasilii Erokhin

Vasilii Erokhin is an Associate Professor, School of Economics and Management, Harbin Engineering University, China. Since 2017, Dr. Erokhin is a research fellow at the Center for Russian and Ukrainian Studies (CRUS) and Arctic Blue Economy Research Center (ABERC), Harbin Engineering University, China. Dr. Erokhin is an author of many publications in the areas of macroeconomics, sustainable development, and agricultural economics with a focus on emerging markets, developing countries, and economies in transition. His major book titles include “Contemporary Macroeconomics: New Global Disorder” (2023), “Shifting Patterns of Agricultural Trade: The Protectionism Outbreak and Food Security” (2021), and “Handbook of Research on Globalized Agricultural Trade and New Challenges for Food Security” (2020). Dr. Erokhin is a guest editor and an editorial board member at many peer-reviewed journals and publications. Dr. Erokhin is a holder of the honorary awards from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Title: Economic Prospects of Artificial Intelligence in the Big Data Environment

Abstract: According to many experts, technical and technological progress will soon allow businesses to replace most jobs with computers, machines, and other digital technologies. Artificial intelligence is one of the most rapidly developing solutions today. Big data technologies greatly support the spread and improvement of artificial intelligence across various sectors. However, it is difficult to predict how artificial intelligence will actually develop and what possible consequences it may bring for the future of the labor market and the well-being of people. In his speech, Dr. Erokhin will discuss the potential benefits of artificial intelligence for economic development, as well as potential threats of intelligence-related technologies to various industries and markets.

Dragana Ostic is a dedicated academic professional with over nine years of experience in higher education. Currently an Associate Professor at the School of Finance and Economics at Jiangsu University, she specializes in teaching advanced courses such as Business Communication and Culture, Negotiations, Game Theory, Sales Management, International Trade, and International Business. Her innovative teaching methodologies have earned her prestigious awards, including first prize for teaching at the School of Finance and Economics and second prize in the Jiangsu University teaching competition. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dragana plays a significant role in the Jiangsu University Belt and Road University – Enterprises Alliance for International Talents’ Cultivation and Education, fostering strong connections between students and industry. Her academic journey is marked by a Ph.D. in International Economics from the University of International Business and Economics, Beijing, and numerous publications in renowned journals. Fluent in multiple languages, she is committed to enhancing student engagement and contributing to the academic community through her research and publications.
